By ticking the "Search On Personal Property..."
check box, you will be searching on the Personal Property records rather than
Real Property. Record Cards for Personal Property are not available for
download.
Using the sort order pull down, you may choose
how the result will be sorted by picking Key Number, Map ID, Owner, Location,
Class, Book and Page.
The
SEARCH
CRITERIA is made up of the following fields:
Key:
This is a unique account number assigned to each assessment record. If you
know the key number it will be the easiest way to search the property.
There is no need to fill in any other search criteria field when you have a key
number entered.
Map ID Fields
(Map, Parcel, Ext): For Real Property this corresponds to the location of
the parcel on the assessment maps. Adding criteria to either one of
these fields will require an exact match for that field.
Owner:
This field will have the assessed owner as of January 1st of the assessment
year. The simplest way to search with this field is to enter only the
first few letters of the Owner's Last Name.
Location Fields
(St No., StNo2, Street): St No. represents the house number. StNo2
represents any Secondary number or alpha portion of the address. The simplest
way to find a property by location is to enter the first few letters of the
street name. If you choose to also include a house number in the St.No.
field, this number will need to be an exact match, otherwise no records will be
found.
Class: The
class field will have the Property Type Classification Code assigned to the
property. This code is based on use. You may search by this field
but you are more likely to return a large number of records when this is your
only criteria. The most common codes are (1010 = Single Family; 1020 =
Condominium; 1040 = Two Family; 1050 = Three Family; 1300 = Developable Land).
Book /Page: This is the Registry Of Deed reference as of
the January 1st assessment date. Though you may search with these fields,
you may find this information to be unavailable for some properties and the
book/page stored in the database will represent the ownership as
of January 1st of the assessment year.
NOTE: Entering criteria in multiple fields will further limit your search.
In other words, if you look for owners starting with GA and a class of 1040,
only records matching both filters will display.
